다시 돌아온 구글 스터디잼!
혼자서 하는 스터디 잼은 꾸역꾸역 했던 기억이 나네요. 솔직히 혼자 하니까 너무 길고 외로운 과정이었습니다. 그래서 이번에는 팀 트랙으로 참여해 봤습니다. 특히 이번에는 서울 우먼잇츠(Seoul Women IT’s)에서 팀 트랙을 함께 운영해줬습니다.
리더 선발 & 팀원 지원
처음에는 리더를 우선적으로 뽑고, 리더가 원하는 팀원을 모집하는 방식이었습니다. 여성 엔지니어의 실무 역량을 강화하고, 생태계의 다양성을 위한 좋은 시도라고 생각했습니다.
물론 스터디 자체는 누구나(남자도 팀원으로 참여 가능…!) 참여 가능한 형태였습니다. 리더가 지원한 스터디원을 대상으로 간단한 설문을 받고 최종적으로 팀원을 선발했습니다.

스터디 과정
무더운 여름 날에 ‘서촌 홍건익 가옥’에서 아직은 어색한 첫 만남을 시작으로 3개월간의 스터디가 시작됐습니다!

매주 일요일 저녁 9시, 온라인으로 모였습니다. 주중에는 각자 퀵랩(Qwiklabs)을 공부하고, 주말에는 서로의 인사이트를 공유하는 방식이었습니다.
우리 팀 리더분이 정말 열심히 잘 이끌어 주셨습니다. 감사합니다! 그리고 팀원들도 정말 꾸준히 해주셨습니다. 특히 해외 출장 중인데도 참여해주시는 적극적인 모습에 진심으로 감사했습니다.
하는 김에…
스터디 잼 기왕 하는 김에 GCP 자격증도 땄습니다. 자격증 준비했던 과정도 따로 공유하겠습니다!
개인 프로젝트
마지막에는 공부한 내용을 토대로 GCP 서비스를 활용한 개인 프로젝트를 진행했습니다. 배운 것을 직접 써먹을 수 있는 좋은 기회였습니다!
자체 결과 공유회
스터디의 마지막은 다시 ‘서촌 홍건익 가옥’에서 자체 결과 공유회를 가졌습니다. 각자가 만든 프로젝트를 공유하는 시간을 가졌습니다.

Cloud Architecture Diagram Generator
저는 기술을 그림으로 표현하는 것에 관심이 많습니다. 그래서 여러 클라우드 서비스를 도식화 서비스를 만들어봤습니다!

팀 트랙 최종 발표회
10월의 마지막 금요일 밤, 모든 팀이 한자리에 모이는 최종 발표회가 구글 스타트업 캠퍼스에서 열렸습니다!

다른 팀들은 어떻게 했는지 직접 볼 수 있어서 정말 좋았습니다. 같은 스터디 잼을 이용해서 스터디를 했지만 프로젝트 방향이 다 다르고, 재미있는 결과물도 인상 깊었습니다!
네트워킹 시간
발표가 마무리되고 네트워킹 시간이 있었는데, 다른 팀 사람들과 이야기를 나눠볼 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 하지만 좀 짧아서 아쉬웠어요. 더 많은 이야기를 나누고 싶었는데… 다음에 다시 한번 뵐 수 있기를 고대합니다!

마무리
솔직히 처음에는 ‘혼자 하는 것보다야 낫겠지’ 정도의 생각이었습니다. 하지만 팀 트랙으로 참여하니 예상했던 것보다 훨씬 좋았습니다.
- 혼자 하는 것보다 부담이 덜합니다 : 팀원들과 함께 하니까 꾸준히 할 수 있음
- 더 많은 인사이트 : 같은 내용을 공부해도 각자 다른 시각에서 나오는 인사이트
- 프로젝트 : 혼자했다면 과연 만들어 봤을까?
- 최종 발표회 : 최종 발표회도 참여하고 덤으로 굿즈까지…!
> 역시 혼자 하는 것보다 다 같이 하는 게 보람 있음
팀 트랙이 있다면 무조건 팀 트랙으로 참여 하시길 적극 추천합니다! 혼자 하는 외롭고 긴 과정보다, 함께 하는 즐거운 여정으로 성장해보시길 바랍니다.

Google Study Jam is back!
I remember grinding through the solo Study Jam. Honestly, doing it alone was a really long and lonely process. So this time I joined the team track. What made it special this time was that Seoul Women IT’s co-ran the team track.
Leader Selection & Member Applications
First, the leaders were selected, and then each leader recruited the members they wanted. I thought it was a great initiative to strengthen the hands-on skills of women engineers and bring more diversity to the ecosystem.
Of course, the study itself was open to anyone (men could join as members too…!). Each leader sent a short survey to the people who applied to their group and made the final picks.
If you’re a woman engineer, I highly recommend joining Women IT’s. There seem to be a lot of great opportunities!

How the Study Went
On a sweltering summer day, our three-month study kicked off with a still-awkward first meeting at the ‘Hong Geon-ik House in Seochon’!

We met online every Sunday at 9 p.m. During the week, everyone worked through Qwiklabs on their own, and on weekends we shared our insights with each other.
Our team leader led us with real dedication. Thank you! And the team members kept at it steadily too. I was truly grateful to see one member join in even while on a business trip abroad.
While I Was at It…
Since I was doing the Study Jam anyway, I got a GCP certification too. I’ll share how I prepared for it in a separate post!
Personal Project
At the end, we each built a personal project using GCP services based on what we’d studied. It was a great chance to put what we learned to real use!
Our Own Showcase
We wrapped up the study with our own showcase, back at the ‘Hong Geon-ik House in Seochon’. Everyone shared the project they’d built.

I was amazed that everyone built such creative, cool services in such a short time, making great use of AI!

- An accessibility service for people with visual impairments

- A nutrition analysis and eating-habits coaching service

I’m really into expressing technology as pictures. So I built a service that diagrams various cloud services!

Team Track Final Presentations
On the last Friday night of October, the final presentations, with every team in one place, were held at Google for Startups Campus!

It was great to see firsthand how the other teams did. We all used the same Study Jam, but every project went in a different direction, and the fun results left a strong impression!
Networking Time
After the presentations there was networking time, and it was nice to chat with people from other teams. But it was a bit short, which was a shame. I wanted to talk more… I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again next time!

Wrapping Up
Honestly, at first I just thought, ‘Well, it’s got to be better than doing it alone.’ But joining the team track turned out to be much better than I expected.
- Less pressure than going solo: with teammates, you can keep at it steadily
- More insight: even studying the same material, everyone brings insight from a different angle
- The project: would I really have built one on my own?
- Final presentations: I got to join the final presentations, plus swag as a bonus…!
> Doing it together really is more rewarding than doing it alone
If there’s a team track, I strongly recommend you join the team track, no question! Instead of a long, lonely process on your own, grow through a fun journey together.
